Description

Academic Search™ Elite contains full text for more than 2,000 journals. More than 100 journals have PDF images back to 1985. The database includes PDF images for the great majority of journals; many of these PDFs are native (searchable) or scanned-in-color. One very helpful feature is EBSCOhost Visual Search. Visual Search allows you to search efficiently across broad subjects, and then returns a visual map of results, organized by topic.

Enter a search term in the Find field above and click Search. A visual map is presented and contains:

• Circles, which represent categories of results. Categories can include subcategory circles. Click on a circle (category) to explore its contents.
• Squares, which represent links to articles. Click on a square to load the article into this pane.

To move back (or up) in the map, click outside of a circle or square. Click on Top Level to view the entire map.

Use the filters at the top of the map to limit or focus information by keyword, date, or publication name. See Help above for additional information.

Academic Search Elite provides full text for more than 2,000 journals, including more than 1,500 peer-reviewed titles. In addition to the full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for all 3,484 journals in the collection. This database offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies and more. Examples of titles offered in Academic Search Elite include: American Historical Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Libraries, American Sociologist, British Journal of Psychology, British Journal of Sociology, Central European History, Contemporary Literature, Early American Literature, Journal of Social Psychology, Library Journal, Social Forces, Sociological Review, Theological Studies, Women's Studies, etc. In addition to journal coverage, Academic Search Elite provides full text information from a variety of source-types such as scholarly monographs. The majority of full text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full text information in this database dates as far back as 1985.
