Historical Newspapers Searches 4 newspapers; Christian Science Monitor (1908-1991), New York Times (1851-2001), Wall Street Journal (1889-1987), and the Washington Post (1877-1988).
JStor A full text collection of scholarly journals, many going back to the first issue.
Readers Guide Retrospective An electronic version of the Readers' Guide Index to Periodical Literature. Indexes several hundred periodicals, from 1900 to 1982.

Note that the library also has a print collection of the London Times newspaper from 1893 to 1963. The bound volumes do not include indexing, but can be searched by date. Check with a librarian about accessing and using this resource.

Selected Internet Resources

World War II: The People's War The BBC asked the public to contribute their memories of World War Two to a website between June 2003 and January 2006. This archive of 47,000 stories and 15,000 images is the result. There are 64 categories of stories including bombings, working life, domestic life, volunteers, military, and internment.
