Parallel vs. serial processing

Definition

.Parallel processing- processing multiple things at the same time (also known as multi tasking) Example: Talking on the phone while driving your car. Serial processing- processing one thing at a time one after another. (in a series)

Significance

We benefit from parallel processing because it allows us to compare what we are seeing to other prototypes at the same time. With serial processing we are only able to process one single thing at a time.
