Experiment Summary

.For each of the 70 trials, there are two 3D block shapes that are either identical or mirror the other. One shape is either rotated clockwise at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, or 120 degrees. You have to decide whether the two shapes are the same or different and respond as quickly as possible.

Independent Variable(s)

.degree of rotation

Dependent Measure(s)

.response time

Expected Results

.It is expected that the response time increases as the amount of rotation also increases.

Theoretical Significance

This experiment is associated with the phenomenon of imagery and looks into the mental processes that are used when determining shapes and direction.
