Flashbulb memory

Definition
A memory of an event or occurance that has some emotional connecion to the person which would make the memory have more of an impact. These momories are often said to be clearer than some other memories because of their close ties to emotion but these memores are often distorted.

Significance
The original study of flashbulb memory was done by Brown and Kulick (1977) where they asked 80 american adults to recall as much information as they could about various events such as MLK and JFK. They found that people were very rich in detail and felt that they were completely accurate about what they remembered..... research shows that you are most likely wrong about some of what you recall.
