The D. W. Griffith’s controversial 1915 silent film The Birth of a Nation will be shown Wednesday, January 22 in the Rodgers Center. There will be commentary at 6:30 pm followed by a showing at 7:00 pm.

The Birth of a Nation is known for its advancement in cinematic techniques, and condemned for its depiction of African-Americans at a time when the Ku Klux Klan was beginning a resurgence.
