Note: McQuade’s interim hours begin May 11 and summer hours, May 21, closing Saturday and Sunday, and Fridays beginning May 25.

Finals Week May 7-11

McQuade is the place to be during Finals!
We have quiet areas, computers, lots more outlets for laptops, comfy chairs and study rooms.

And then there are study breaks: massages, Xbox games and DVDs.

Zest will be open Monday – Thursday until 11. Coffee and cookies are served at 7 pm, Mon. and Wed., and vending machines are always available.

Here’s the Study Break Schedule:

Monday, May 7
1:15 pm – 3:15 pm Massages in the beanbag area near Zest
7 pm Coffee and cookies will be served on the second floor.

Tuesday, May 8
9 pm – 11 pm Cram Jam Luau Party in Sak MPR – note time update!

Wednesday, May 9
6 pm-8 pm Have a massage in the bean bag room.
7 pm Coffee and cookies will be served on the second floor.

All events sponsored by IT Services, McQuade Library and/or Office of Student Involvement.

Silent Areas and More Outlets

The Foisy Family Study Room (2nd floor) and the Arundel Room (3rd floor) have been declared silent study areas during finals week. These are great places for individual study with no conversations.

Need a computer? The Alden Classroom (3rd floor) will be open to supplement the computer lab and 1st floor computers. Or bring your own laptop. Many more outlets have been added: around the fireplace, and along the windows on the 2nd and 3rd floors overlooking Mendel Pond and Austin Hall.

And don’t forget to bring your MACKcard to access McQuade during extended hours.

Let’s Hang On!-a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Saturday at 7:30 pm
Merrimack Concert Choir Spring Concert, feat. special guest Mackapella in Cascia Hall, Sunday 1:00-3:00 pm
“A Mozart Gala – Music from the Cathedral” presented by the Andover Choral Society, Sunday at 3:00 pm

And in between concerts you can listen to classical, contemporary jazz, international music and more from Naxos Music Library, a McQuade Library database. Use the search box to find music from a specific country, a composer, a performer, instrument, genre, etc.

Robert Frost at Merrimack

In April 1992, the statue of poet Robert Frost by Puerto Rican sculptor Jose Buscaglia was donated to Merrimack College by Mr. and Mrs. Richard McCoy. A photo of the statue in Buscaglia’s studio can be seen at Buscaglia’s web site. A bronze version is at the Smithsonian National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Robert Frost grew up just up the road in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
