Send book information via Text Message!

You’ve searched McQuade Library’s online catalog and you’ve found a book you’re interested in reading. Instead of printing out the record, or writing down on scrap paper all the information you need, you can now text this information to your cell phone or BlackBerry!

Here’s how to do it:

Click on the “Send via Text Message” button at the bottom of the record
Enter your cell phone number (10 digit number with no dashes)
Select your provider
Click on the “Send” button

The message will contain all the information you need to retrieve the book: location, call number, and title. Carrier charges may apply. Ask a librarian if you have questions about this new service.

RefWorks Training

RefWorks is an online research management tool that allows researchers to create a personal database in which they can gather, manage and store all kinds of bibliographic information. Citation information for articles, books and many other types of sources can be automatically imported from most of McQuade Library’s subscription databases. You can also create citations and bibliographies within RefWorks using hundreds of different citation styles, including APA, MLA, Chicago, and Turabian.
McQuade Library will be offering workshops next week to teach users how to make the most of this product.
Workshop schedule:
Wednesday, February 20th at 9:30am
Thursday, February 21st at 3:30pm
The workshops will last approximately one hour, and will be held in the Alden classroom on the 3rd floor of McQuade Library. These workshops are open to all members of the Merrimack College community (students, faculty and staff). RefWorks is an online research management tool now available to the Merrimack College community. For students with end-of-semester research papers due, or for faculty planning to conduct research over the winter break, this tool will help you gather, manage, and store all kinds of information. You can also create citations and bibliographies within RefWorks using hundreds of different citation styles, including APA, MLA, Chicago, and Turabian.

McQuade Library will be offering workshops next week to teach users how to make the most of this new product.

Wednesday, December 5th at 10:30am
Thursday, December 6th at 3:30pm
